A Guide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Jug Bay

Written by Elaine Friebele and Jamie Zambo, this 88-page spiral bound book provides lovely black and white illustrations and detailed descriptions of all the “herps” (amphibians and reptiles) found at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. The small format (7 x 8 1/2 inches) makes it perfect to carry on a hike. Printed in 2004.
The Patuxent River Wild Rice Marsh

This 91-page softcover book by Brooke Meanley provides an intimate look at the wild rice marshes and their associated birdlife along the upper Patuxent River. The book includes wonderful field notes that make you feel as if you were there. Many black and white photos and beautiful line drawings by John W. Taylor add to its charm. Printed in 1996.
