Fred Tutman

Fred Tutman has been a longtime protector of the Patuxent River and its environs as the Patuxent Riverkeeper. He brings us stories of his upbringing in the rural places and spaces of the Patuxent River Corridor, where his family founded a farm in the 1920s. The family loved and connected with the native environment, but did not think of themselves as evnironmentalists, but rather as people favored by nature in a special place all of their own. Knowing Mr. Tutman the stories and past history of the family and Patuxent area, you will understand how he has come an active and respected keeper of the Patuxent.
