Rick Anthony

Rick Anthony, who served as director of Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks from 2010 to 2021, was one of the longest serving department heads in the County. He was well respected because he always gave his best attention to the county’s many needs. Rick was an overall supporter of the things we do at the Sanctuary, our education, citizen science, and stewardship programs. The Sanctuary fared well under his directorship as he supported our goals for the Sanctuary for infrastructure maintenance and improvements. He was extremely helpful with new properties added to the Sanctuary and also in Jug Bay’s Sister Park exchange with Palo Verdes National Park in Costa Rica.
